Richard Seymour’s Hair Pulling Was ‘No Mistake’

Patriots fans watched defensive end Richard Seymour do just about everything in his power to get to the quarterback or stop a running back dead in his tracks during his years in New England. But this Sunday, the current Oakland Raider displayed a new form of bringing down an opponent: the old hair-pulling trick.

Seymour was penalized 14 yards for pulling the hair of Broncos offensive lineman Ryan Clady. Did the Pro Bowler get wrongly flagged? Was he grabbing for Clady's jersey and inadvertently got a piece of his locks that hang out of the bottom of his helmet?

Nope and nope.

According to Lowell Cohn of Pressdemocrat.com, the hair-pull was no mistake:

"Cohn: May I ask you a question? You were penalized for pulling a guy's hair. I've never in my life been aware of anything like that. Can I trouble you to tell me what happened?

Seymour: Did you see the game?

Cohn: I was there. Was it a mistake?

Seymour: It was no mistake.

Cohn: You were pissed?

Seymour: It wasn't no mistake, brother. Next question.

Cohn: Is there something wrong with the question? Why did you do it?

Seymour: You asked if it was a mistake and I told you no. Get out of here.

Cohn: Why do I get out of here? You don't like to talk about that.

Seymour: Get out of here.

Cohn: I'm not getting out of here."
