Jets' Rex Ryan Optimistic That Jerricho Cotchery Will Play Against Raiders After starting the season 3-0 and then losing three straight games, the Jets are in need of some good news, and they may finally get some on Sunday.

Jerricho Cotchery, who missed last week's loss to Buffalo and most of the previous week's loss to Miami, could play on Sunday against Oakland, according to ESPN.com.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan is optimistic about getting his wideout back, telling the Web site he has a "real shot" to take the field.

Cotchery has missed time due to a nagging hamstring injury sustained a few days before New York's game against the Dolphins. His injury, coupled with the loss of Brad Smith to a quad injury, has been extremely costly to the Jets' offense.

Neither wide receiver participated in team drills on Thursday but they did complete individual drills. Ryan said he is hopeful that at least one of them will play against the Raiders.

Last season, Cotchery started all 16 regular-season games for the Jets and finished the season with 71 receptions for 858 yards, averaging 12.1 yards per reception.
