Joe Girardi Announces Yankees' Rotation and Roster Plans for World Series The World Series is set to begin on Wednesday, and the Yankees are still unsure of their rotation beyond Game 3.

Joe Girardi told reporters during media day that CC Sabathia will pitching Game 1, followed by A.J. Burnett and Andy Pettitte. But after that, the coaching staff has not decided if they will bring Sabathia back on short rest or turn to Joba Chamberlain or Chad Gaudin for Game 4.

Girardi also announced the possibility that Hideki Matsui could play the outfield in the World Series when the Yankees lose the designated hitter. He also confirmed that Eric Hinske would be back on the roster for the World Series in place of Freddy Guzman.
