Former University of New Hampshire Wildcat and current goaltender in the Boston Bruins' system Kevin Regan has been assigned to the team's ECHL affiliate, NESN.com's James Murphy reports.

The Royals, who play in Reading, Pa., are a shared affiliate between the Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs — two teams that have done a bit of sharing in the past month.

Regan, the unanimous 2008 Hockey East Player of the Year, posted a 2.21 GAA and .930 save percentage in his senior season for the Wildcats. In his final collegiate game, he made 62 saves in a triple-overtime loss to Boston College.

In his first season in Providence, Regan recorded a shutout in his only appearance before posting a 2.99 GAA and .896 save percentage in 21 games last year. He's currently recovering from offseason hip surgery, and the move leaves Dany Sabourin and Matt Dalton as Providence's goaltenders.
