The Red Sox picked up reliever Billy Wagner over a month ago from the Mets, but reports surfaced on Wednesday that Boston completed the deal by sending a pair of minor leaguers to Queens.

According to the New York Post, the Sox sent a pair of minor leaguers to New York, including outfielder Chris Carter from Triple-A Pawtucket and first baseman Eddie Lora from the Single-A Gulf Coast League.

Carter played four games with Boston this summer but went hitless in five at bats. The 27-year-old hit .295 with 16 homers and 61 RBIs in 115 games for the Paw Sox.

Lora, a 6-foot-2, 228-pounder from New York City, hit .222 with three homers and seven RBIs in 34 games this season. The 20-year-old struck out 34 times to just nine walks in 99 at bats.

Wagner, meanwhile, made 15 regular season appearances for the Red Sox and posted a 1.98 ERA while striking out 22 batters in 13 2/3 innings.
