David Krejci's Shutout-Snapping Goal Earns Him Arbella Player of the Week Center David Krejci had a lot of high expectations coming into this season and despite Boston's recent struggles, the 23-year-old Czech has been able to play at the top of his game.

Because of the injury to Marc Savard, Krejci was forced into a more significant role and has done exceptionally well in doing so.

Krejci buried his ninth goal of the season in Boston's 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes to snap Cam Ward's shutout. Krejci's powerplay tally was assisted by Blake Wheeler and Derek Morris halfway through the final frame in the Sunday evening defeat — Boston's fifth straight.

Krejci now has 27 points, tying him for fourth most on the Bruins with Mark Recchi. That goal was just his second of the month but it was Boston's fifth in their last four contests.
