Report: Jim Leavitt Fired By South Florida Jim Leavitt led the USF Bulls to an 8-5 record this past season, but he could be on his way out. That's because, according to an ESPN.com report, the coach is being fired for allegedly grabbing and striking one of his players during halftime in a game.

The report says that the player, Joel Miller, said last month that allegations levied by his own father, Paul Miller, were untrue. Yet sources tell ESPN.com that Leavitt has been fired.

Leavitt has been with the Bulls since their very beginning, bringing the team from the FCS ranks (then Division I-AA) all the way up to national prominence. In the past four years, USF has gone 34-18, winning three of the four bowls to which they were selected.
