Just days removed from his release from the Cleveland Browns, Donte Stallworth appears to have an NFL future.

The wide receiver, who was suspended for the entirety of the 2009 season after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter in the summer, will work out for the Detroit Lions, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Drew Rosenhaus, Stallworth's agent, said Stallworth would play for any NFL team and will sign with someone in "the next couple weeks at the latest," according to The Boston Globe.

"Everything in the past is behind him, and he is excited to move forward," Rosenhaus told the Globe.

At 28 years old, Stallworth has plenty of football left in him. He was limited with the Browns in 2008, but as part of the historic 2007 Patriots offense, he caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three touchdowns, finishing third on the team in receptions and receiving yards. He spent four seasons in New Orleans before spending one year each in Philadelphia, New England and Cleveland.

Stallworth was reinstated by commissioner Roger Goodell after the Super Bowl. Shortly thereafter, the Browns terminated his contract, thereby making him a free agent.
