Logan Mankins Absent From Patriots' Voluntary Workouts FOXBORO, Mass. — Center Dan Koppen appreciates the consistency that has been established for years along the Patriots' offensive line, and he is optimistic about the unit heading into 2010.

The only question up to this point surrounds left guard Logan Mankins, who is a restricted free agent and hasn't reported to the team's voluntary workouts that have been underway since March 15. Mankins' absence is reportedly a way to show the Patriots that he is unhappy with the lack of discussions over a contract extension.

Koppen said he has spoken to Mankins a few times, since they're good friends. But he wouldn't reveal the context of those conversations.

"That's between him and the Patriots," Koppen said. "It doesn't concern me at all. It's one of those things where I'm not negotiating the deal on either side. I'm sure the Patriots are doing what they feel is right, and Logan is doing what he feels is right for him and his family. Whatever he decides and gets done is his business."
