Tom Brady was nowhere to be found at the Patriots' voluntary offseason workouts in Foxboro this week.

According to the Boston Herald, the quarterback is preparing for next season on his own, and spending time with his wife and two children in Los Angeles.

Wes Welker's injury in last year's regular-season finale combined with the losses of Ben Watson and Chris Baker in free agency will change the Patriots' offense next season. Voluntary workouts could give Brady additional time to prepare for next season, but the team isn't worried about his absence.

"I'm quite sure when he gets in, he'll get us all on the same page," wide receiver David Patten told the Herald. "And we'll get together, and we'll start throwing together."
