The injuries keep coming for the Bruins, and this one could be as devastating as any. Dennis Seidenberg will miss eight weeks after undergoing surgery on his forearm. That leaves the B's No. 2 defenseman out until late May — meaning the Bruins would need to make a deep playoff run to see Seidenberg return to the ice.

Seidenberg, acquired shortly before the trading deadline, stepped into the Bruins' locker room and immediately made an impact. He scored two goals and registered seven assists in 17 games while posting a plus-9 rating.

He suffered an injury on Saturday night in Toronto when he hit Nikolai Kulemin into the boards behind the Bruins' net. Seidenberg was called for a boarding penalty, but he appeared to have gotten slashed in the lower arm by Kulemin's skate blade. On the ensuing power play, the on-ice officials whistled a play dead so that Seidenberg, who was bleeding in the penalty box, could receive attention from the trainers off the ice.

The injury, according to the Bruins, was a lacerated flexor carpi radialis tendon in his left forearm.

Starting the season with Florida, Seidenberg played in all 72 games this
season, scoring four goals and tallying 28 assists. He joined the
Bruins and took over the spot on the blue line alongside Zdeno Chara. The 28-year-old native of Germany is due to become a free agent after the season. He is making $2.25 million this season and he's expected to draw attention from around the league
