Bruins Live Blog: B's Take 2-0 Series Lead With Win Over FlyersEnd of game, Bruins 3-2: The Bruins are headed to what promises not to be a City Of Brotherly Love with a commanding 2-0 lead in this series. Milan Lucic scored with 2:57 left in regulation to give the Bruins a 3-2 win, and Tuukka Rask made 24 saves as he continues to impress between the pipes. Games 3 and 4 are Wednesday and Friday at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

Third period, 14.1 seconds, Bruins 3-2: Daniel Paille just missed an empty-net goal and the Flyers still have life with the faceoff in the Bruins' zone.

Third period, 2:57, Bruins 3-2: Milan Lucic just got his first goal of the playoffs, and what a time to get it as he has given the Bruins a 3-2 lead late in regulation. David Krejci and Miro Satan had the helpers. The TD Garden is rocking!

Third period, 7:38, 2-2: The Bruins are now 0-for-5 on the power play as they failed to convert on that hooking call to Danny Briere. That was not a good power play!

Third period, 9:57, 2-2: Danny Briere is off for hooking and the Bruins are back on the power play. They're 0-for-4.

Third period, 12:28, 2-2: The Flyers just got called for too many men on the ice and the Bruins are on their fourth power play. A fast moving third period here in Game 2. Could we be headed for overtime again?

Third period, 17:58, 2-2: Under way here in the final frame with the Bruins and Flyers tied at 2. Also, to update that biting accusation by Daniel Carcillo, I was just in the video room here at the TD Garden and saw at least five different angles of that scrum. Carcillo did accuse Marc Savard of biting him, but from the views I saw, Savard's head was buried in the referee's stomach and Carcillo also had his gloves on the whole time. Savard has some sharp teeth if that got through to skin.

End of second period, 2-2: That was a tough way to end the period for the Bruins but they will have to answer that Danny Briere goal as we head to the final period tied at two. Also, we are trying to gather information on this now but Darren Dreger of TSN is reporting that the NHL is trying to determine if Marc Savard bit Daniel Carcillo's finger in that scrum early in the period that ended up with Savard in the penalty box for slashing.

Second period, 24.8, 2-2: Danny Briere came out of the box and blasted one by Tuukka Rask to tie the game at two. Rask looked like he never saw it. Ville Leino and Chris Pronger had the helpers.

Second period, 2:42, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins are on their third power play as Danny Briere is in the sin-bin for hooking.

Second period, 3:36, Bruins 2-1: Once again, the Bruins penalty kill has been dominant killing off four Flyers power plays so far. On that last kill, the Bruins had about three scoring chances and the Flyers had none. That has been a major difference in this game compared to Game 1, when the penalty kill allowed two power-play goals.

Second period, 7:12, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins will have to kill off another Flyers power play as Vladimir Sobotka is in the penalty box for holding the stick. The Flyers are 0-for-3.

Second period, 10:29, Bruins 2-1: The TD Garden is "Dancing On The Devil's Floor" as Miroslav Satan just beat Brian Boucher to regain the lead for the Bruins. Blake Wheeler and Dennis Wideman had the helpers.

Satan now has scored in three straight playoff games and now has four lamplighters and four assists. He also has a five-game point streak going.

Wideman also has four assists in two games.

Second period, 14:05, 1-1: Well, Daniel Carcillo is in full pest mode as he just punched Marc Savard in the side of the face and somehow Savard got the only penalty. Can't blame Savard or the Bruins for that one.

Second period, 16:21, 1-1: The Bruins heeded our advice as Milan Lucic didn't take the bait from Scott Hartnell and Hartnell goes off to the sin-bin for roughing. The Bruins get their second power play as a result.

Second period, 18:52, 1-1: Underway in the second period deadlocked at one. Let's see if the Bruins can regain the lead here and take advantage of those juicy rebounds from Brian Boucher.

End of first period, 1-1: That wasn't the best of periods for the Bruins but they came away tied at one.

The Bruins still look a bit sloppy in their own zone and need to tighten up the defense. Also Tuukka Rask was screened on that goal by Mike Richards which means the B's may need to either open the lanes or close them tighter with blocked shots. They lead 6-5 in that category but the Flyers lead 10-7 in shots. Time to pay the price a little more.

But while things could be better in the defensive zone, the Bruins looked solid on offense and one has to love Patrice Bergeron's magic at the faceoff dot. This is the second straight game that Bergeron has won a faceoff back top a teammate who then scored a goal.

First period, 2:54, 1-1: Mike Richards is having one heck of a series thus far. The Flyers captain just beat Tuukka Rask with a wrister for his fourth point of the series tying the game at one. Daniel Briere and Ville Leino had the helpers.

First period, 3:54, Bruins 1-0: The Bruins thankfully killed off that Steve Begin cross-checking call and the Flyers are 0-for-2. There is nothing wrong with the emotion and physicality they're showing but the B's need to take numbers and get revenge later. Don't get lured into retaliatory penalties.

First period, 6:50, Bruins 1-0: Daniel Carcillo just did what he does best and drew the Bruins into a retaliatory penalty. Carcillo elbowed Steve Begin and Begin reacted with a cross-check from behind. Carcillo did a great acting job and drew the call. The Flyers are on their second power play. They're 0-for-1.

First period, 8:42, Bruins 1-0: The Bruins failed to score on that power play and are 0-for-1. But if they keep shooting they may be able to pad this lead. Just like in Game 1, Brian Boucher is giving off a juicy rebound on almost every shot.

First period, 11:19, Bruins 1-0: The Bruins are headed onto their first power play. Lukas Krajicek is off for holding.

First period, 14:48, Bruins 1-0: Patrice Bergeron does it again with his dominance at the faceoff dot as he won a faceoff and got it back to Johnny Boychuk who blasted it by Brian Boucher. The Bruins also have the first goal for the second time this series unlike last series when they didn't draw first blood until Game 6.

First period, 17:05: The Bruins killed off the Blake Wheeler hooking call and the Flyers are 0-for-1.

First period, 19:13: The Flyers get the first power play of the game as Blake Wheeler is off for hooking.Philadelphia had two power-play goals in Game 1, the first power-play goals scored on the Bruins in the playoffs.

First period, 19:42: Shawn Thornton was out on the ice for the first shift of the game and already mixing it up. Good to have him back as we're underway in Game 2.

7:05 p.m.: The B's and Flyers are about to come out onto the ice. Once the Bruins new intro tune "Cochise" by Audioslave is done, it would be great to hear the TD Garden breakout into a "Marco Marco" chant for Marco Sturm whose season just ended thanks to a torn MCL and ACL. Not sure if anyone is reading this in the crowd but I can tell you that Sturm was close to tears today and needs all the support he can get!

6:50 p.m.: The Bruins and Flyers just finished their pre-game skates and the TD Garden is starting to pack up for Game 2 of this Eastern Conference Semifinals series that the Bruins lead 1-0. There are some small tweaks to the lineup as Shawn "The Quiet Man" Thornton is back on the fourth line and Vladimir Sobotka will be on the left wing with Marc Savard and Michael Ryder. Here's the lineups for both teams:

2:50 p.m.: As has been the case all season, every time the Bruins gain a player, they lose one and that was what happened in their dramatic 5-4 overtime win in Game 1. Center Marc Savard came back from a Grade 2 concussion suffered March 7 to score the winner in overtime but winger Marco Sturm suffered a torn MCL and ACL 21 seconds in and was lost for the playoffs. On Monday, the revolving door opened again as winger Shawn Thornton will be back in the lineup for Game 2.

Defenseman Mark Stuart also took part in the game day skate and may very well be back in this series.

Sturm met the media as well and while obviously down-trodden, vowed to come back.

"I’m still speechless today," said Sturm. "I just never thought there
was going to be another injury like this. It’s a tough one. But I
always come back from big injuries, and I’m going to do it again. But
it’s definitely tough."

9 a.m.: The Bruins will try to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series with the Flyers at TD Garden at 7 p.m. ET.

After a dramatic 5-4 overtime win in which Marc Savard scored the game-winner in his first game back since suffering a Grade 2 concussion on March 7, the Bruins will try to harness that momentum but not get too high either.

"That was a big win but we need to be careful to not think it’s going to be easy, because they proved coming back like they did that it won’t," captain Zdeno Chara said.

The Flyers did indeed do that, three times erasing a two-goal Bruins’ lead and tying the game the final time to send it to overtime. In their opening series against the Sabres, the Bruins couldn’t seem to get a lead, allowing the first goal every game until Game 6, but now they must learn to protect the lead.

This will be another hard-fought battle and the TD Garden will be rocking as the B’s try to maintain home-ice advantage and take it back to the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4 with a two-game lead in the series.
