Detroit’s Comerica Park and New York’s Yankee Stadium will hold a home-and-home series in September, but not for who you think.

Instead of hosting baseball, the stadiums will be the venue for concerts featuring two of hip hop’s biggest stars: Jay-Z and Eminem.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the two made the announcement during ESPN’s broadcast of Wednesday’s game between the Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees. Eminem will headline the Sept. 2 Detroit show while Jay-Z will serve as the headliner at the New York show on Sept. 13.

"We had talked about doing something together again soon anyway," Eminem said on ESPN. "We just tried to come up with the best way and biggest way to do it."

The Comerica Park concert will be Eminem’s first in his hometown since a 2005 show at the ballpark and will be his first big collaboration with Jay-Z since being featured on the 2001 track "Renegade."

Eminem stepped out of the spotlight prior to the 2009 release of Relapse, his latest album, and now has started to return to the normal routine of recording and touring. The two shows will come at the end of a European tour in support of Recovery, his newest album, which is set for release in June.

Teaming up with Jay-Z has certainly been a plus.

"I look for opportunities to work with Em, any time we get a chance to collaborate on things," said Jay-Z on ESPN.

With both heavy hitters in the lineup, the two shows should be home runs.
