Report: Former Harvard Standout Jeremy Lin to Sign With Golden State Warriors Jeremy Lin, the former Harvard basketball star and NBA summer league standout, is heading home.

According to ESPN.com, Lin has reached an agreement with the Golden State Warriors. He reportedly will make $500,000 in his rookie season, and is expected to sign a multiyear deal.

Lin played very well for the Dallas Mavericks' summer league team in Las Vegas, where he turned heads for his outstanding performance against No. 1 overall pick John Wall of the Wizards. The Los Angeles Lakers had expressed interest in bringing him to L.A.'s Staples Center, but the native of Palo Alto, Calif., will instead be back in his old stomping grounds in the Bay Area.

If Lin makes the Warriors team, he would become the first Harvard alum to play in the NBA since Ed Smith in 1953. Lin also would become the first Asian-American to play in the NBA since since Wataru Misaka in 1948.
