The American League is full of hot-corner contenders and at least three third baseman are worthy of getting the starting nod at this year’s All-Star Game in Anaheim.

Adrian Beltre has been a pleasant surprise thus far for the Red Sox as he leads the team with a .349 batting average to go with 12 homers, 53 RBIs and 163 total bases. He also stands as the only Sox hitter to eclipse the 100-hit plateau (102) and is second on the team in doubles with 23.

Alex Rodriguez has had a quiet season in the Bronx, but the slugger is checking in with a .282 batting average, 12 homers and 57 RBIs. A-Rod is always in the MVP race and any All-Star manager would be blessed to have him manning the hot corner.

Evan Longoria, leading the way in fan voting, seems like a shoo-in for the starting nod. Longo has a .292 batting average, 12 taters and 54 RBIs to go with 12 steals. He’s one of the game’s most exciting and marketable players, meaning Bud Selig is happy to see his name etched into the Midsummer Classic’s roster.

So who deserves to start at third base for the AL in the All-Star game?
