Jack Parker underwent successful bypsass surgery on July 23 and is recovering well, according to The Daily Free Press.

The head coach of Boston University's men's ice hockey team since 1973, is expected to make a full recovery and return to the BU bench for his 38th season this fall.

"The entire BU community wishes Jack a speedy recovery and respects his privacy during this time," Mike Lynch, the school's assistant VP and director of athletics, said in a statement. "We look forward to seeing him lead the Terriers on the ice this fall."

Parker, 65, is the longest-tenured active coach in college hockey. He's second only to Boston College's Jerry York in career wins by an active coach.
