It was hard to believe that it ended that way.

Chael Sonnen talked a big game prior to his bout with Anderson Silva, but he backed it up. The former University of Oregon All-American wrestler brutalized the "world's best pound-for-pound fighter" for nearly the entire match. All Sonnen had to do was make it out of the fifth round and he'd have won.

He couldn't.

Silva reversed Sonnen's advantage and forced him to submit with a triangle choke hold.

Fans were stunned and immediately called for a rematch via twitter. UFC boss Dana White seemed keen on the idea at the post fight news conference.
