Once he was released from the Mayo Clinic, it didn't take long for Roush Fenway Racing co-owner, Jack Roush, to return to the race track. Roush attended the Carfax 400 at the Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, and his drivers welcomed him back in winning fashion.

Roush Fenway Racing placed all four Sprint Cup cars in the top 11 finishers and three cars in the top five. Carl Edwards finished first for the team, pulling in at third place on his 31st birthday. Greg Biffle was right behind him, finishing in fourth. Biffle had the race-high tally on the day, as he drove 66 laps in first place. Matt Kenseth finished the day with his 100th Top Five finish, nabbing fifth place in Michigan.

David Ragan rounded out the Team Roush Fenway performance with an 11th place finish. Edwards (6th) and Kenseth (9th) moved up in the Sprint Cup point standings with their respective efforts on the day, while Biffle holds steady at 11th .

“It is great,” Edwards said after the race. “We really wanted to get a win for [Roush] today, but that is a strong performance for us and for Ford. It meant a lot to perform that well for him today.”

Roush returned to the race track just days after his release from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Roush was receiving treatment on severe facial lacerations after surviving a plane crash that he was piloting on July 28. Roush and his passenger, Brenda Strickland, walked away from the accident, but Roush remained in the hospital for two weeks following the crash.
