Joe Namath Believes Jets’ Super Bowl Claims are ‘Justified’

Apparently Rex Ryan is a successful psychic, because Jets legend Joe Namath is on board with Ryan's crystal ball prediction that his team will win the Super Bowl this year.

Namath, who led the franchise to its only Super Bowl title in 1969, is backing up all the buzz generating around the New York Jets during the offseason, saying it is "justified" due to the immense talent the team boasts this year.

The Jets' former QB is so convinced of the team's capability, he's gone so far as to exclaim to The Associated Press that this 2010 squad is "the most legitimate contender we've had."

He has a point there — the Jets are legit this season, and they very well could be Super Bowl contenders. And Namath has a solid foundation of football knowledge and a championship ring to back up his claim.

I guess only time will tell if the New York Jets will live up to the expectations set by Broadway Joe.

We'll give him one thing: At least he didn't cite a crystal ball to support his prediction.
