Nick Kaczur has missed 11 straight practices for the New England Patriots, and according to a report on Friday night, it's due to a "significant" injury.

Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reported that Kaczur "has told teammates that he has a significant back injury that could sideline him indefinitely and potentially threaten his 2010 season."

Kaczur, 31, lost his job as the starting right tackle to up-and-comer Sebastian Vollmer, but he was expected to fill in for the disgruntled Logan Mankins at left guard.

The Patriots did not confirm that the injury is serious, but Reiss wrote that "the initial diagnosis is grim."
