Mention Brett Favre around NFL fans at this point during the year, and they'll all likely tell you that they're sick of his act. It now appears that at least one teammate is getting tired of it, too.

Jared Allen said that the future Hall of Famer needs to make up his mind on a potential return by the third preseason game, according to ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen. Allen said he wanted the decision "out of fairness to the team and [second-string quarterback] Tarvaris Jackson."

"Allen wasn't mad, he didn't say Favre was selfish, he just said he believes team needs to know by the 3rd pre game," Mortensen wrote on his Twitter page, adding that Allen said he hopes Favre returns.

Earlier in the day, Mortensen reported that a private plane left Favre's town of Hattiesburg, Miss., and flew to Pensacola, Fla., presumably to see Dr. James Andrews. At this point, it appears as though the only way Favre does not come back is if his ankle cannot withstand the grind of an NFL season.
