When Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt went down with an ankle injury on Oct. 15, it was immediately speculated that he would be sitting out of action for at least a month.

However, two weeks into his recovery, head coach Roy Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv the attacker is making great strides in his progress at the team's training facility, Melwood. Hodgson even revealed that Kuyt could be returning a week or two ahead of schedule.

"Dirk Kuyt is making incredible progress," Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv.  "He shouldn't be as far advanced as he is with his ankle but he's looking good. I don't think he'll be fit for the weekend but maybe the weekend after."

The Reds next matchup comes against Bolton on Halloween. Bolton currently posts 12 points in Premier League play, as opposed to Liverpool's nine.

In other Liverpool injury news, defender Glen Johnson (who has missed the last three matches with a muscle strain) is doubtful for the Bolton match as well.

"With Glen Johnson it's one of those things that will be touch and go for the weekend," Hodgson said. "He's making strides but he's not 100 percent."
