The deal was made official on Friday, and NESV founder John Henry sat down for an interview to discuss the excitement ahead now that Liverpool FC is a member of the NESV family. NESV is the same ownership family, of course, that houses the Boston Red Sox.
“It has been a dramatic few days with a lot of twists and turns,” Henry said in an interview with LFC TV. “It’s been stressful, but finally, we have it done, and that was our goal and our hope, and I’m extremely proud of this team that has worked on this deal.”
Henry said there were days when the NESV team wasn’t sure whether they’d be heading back to the United States empty-handed, even up until the final moments before the official ownership announcement. Now, however, he is thrilled the effort ended successfully.
