Bryan Williams — aka Birdman — is known for his fierce beats and ridiculous lyrics. He said something else ridiculous last week on a nationally syndicated radio show.

The Miami Herald first reported that the popular rapper told the Morning After radio show host Angela Yee that he was working on a deal that would make him part owner of the Miami club. He went on to say the Dolphins were just waiting on approval from the NFL.

"It's in [the] works," Birdman said, according to the Herald. "You have to get clearance from the NFL and we're waiting for clearance. Once we get clearance, we good."

After looking into the possible deal, the Herald changed its story. The NFL and the Dolphins have since said they had no idea about the deal. Stephen Ross, the Dolphins' owner, claims to have never heard of this deal before.

"I have never spoken to him or any representative," Ross said in a statement released by the team. "Not considering or looking for any celebrity limited partners."

If the deal went down, it would have added Birdman's name to a long list of celebrity Dolphins owners. The list currently includes Gloria Estefan, Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Venus and Serena Williams and Fergie. At least, though, it got Birdman some press, which appears to have been his goal all along.
