The Boston Red Sox claimed Jordan Parraz off waivers on Wednesday.

Parraz, 26, is an outfielder with no major league experience. He spent 13 games in Triple-A before spending the entire 2010 season there with the Omaha Royals.

Last year, he batted .266 with 11 home runs and 61 RBIs in 123 games. His 21 doubles were second on the team, and his .571 average in September was the best in Triple-A.

Parraz was drafted by Houston in the third round in 2004.

The move brings the Red Sox' 40-man roster to a full 40 players.
