The only similarity that comes to mind when comparing Tom Brady and Rex Ryan is the fact that both represent the AFC East. According to Ryan, however, the two men are more alike than one may think.
Taking a break from his crystal ball predictions, Ryan joked around with a few reporters on Monday saying that he shares a few similarities with the Patriots' quarterback. And according to the report by ESPN.com, "good looks" are just the beginning.
"I never realized how similar I am to Tom Brady," Ryan said. "The obvious physical appearance would be the first thing. The fact that he's married to a supermodel [Gisele Bundchen]? Hello? Yes, I'm also married to a supermodel."
Ryan proceeded to pull out the latest InStyle magazine, which contained a full-page NFL apparel advertisement featuring his wife Michelle in Jets gear. Ryan couldn't help but point out the similarity he shares with his upcoming Monday Night Football competition, as both their wives have graced the pages of fashion magazines.
"I just realized that we're very similar in that way," Ryan said.
Not only is Ryan recognizing the talent's of Brady's wife, but also those of Brady himself. The dominant nature of New England's quarterback is not lost on the Jets' head coach.
"There's no weakness in Brady's game," Ryan said in a serious moment. "He's poised, he's competitive, he's a leader."
