Over 30 Million Tune in for Patriots-Bears, Making it Most-Watched NFL Game of 2010

More people in the United States watched Sunday afternoon’s Patriots-Bears snowy game on CBS than any other game this season — 30.2 million in total. The game is just one of two in the past four years to surpass the 30 million mark.

The program received a 17.4 rating nationally and a 41.29 in the Boston area. It was, however, only the third most-watched Patriots game this season in the local market — trailing the Pats victories over the Colts and Jets. Still, third best in 2010 is good enough to be the fifth most-watched of all time in Boston.

The team is on pace to break 2007’s Boston TV ratings record of 33.6.

The game had a rating four times greater than that of Glee, which earned just a 10.26 mark.

The Patriots look to receive another big number on Sunday, when they face the Packers on Football Night in America.
