FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots left guard Logan Mankins isn't very worried about himself or his situation. Now that he's back with the team, which is also in the midst of an impressive four-game winning streak, Mankins is just worried about what's happening on the field.

"I'm happy with the way it's been going," Mankins said Thursday. "It's going to be a big challenge for us this week in Chicago. They've got a really good defense."

Mankins has played in five games, and the Patriots have surpassed 100 rushing yards in their last four contests, which is a season-high stretch. Also, quarterback Tom Brady was sacked 12 times in the Patriots' first seven games, but he's only been hauled down six times in the last five games.

Mankins, who laughed at the thought of wearing sleeves this weekend in Chicago, where the wind chill could drop temperatures to minus 40 degrees, said he wasn’t fazed by the quick immersion into game duty. Mankins practiced three times and just once in pads before playing in his first game this season.

He hit the ground running, and it's been beneficial to the Patriots.

"Cleveland, I felt fine that game," Mankins said. "I felt good. Hey, it's not my first year here, so I knew the offense before I got here. I just had to get the physical stuff down."
