Two of the biggest names from Oregon's and Auburn's football programs have been named honorary captains for the BCS Championship Game next week, with Ahmad Rashad representing the Ducks and Bo Jackson representing the Tigers.

Both players are members of the College Football Hall of Fame, with Jackson being a Heisman Trophy winner in 1985 and Rashad, then known as Bobby Moore, being a former star wide receiver and running back for the Ducks from 1969 to 1971.

"Their legendary careers will serve as a potent reminder of the game's rich history just moments before the current generation writes the next chapter," National Football Foundation president and CEO Steven J. Hatchell said in a statement.
