Report: Jim Harbaugh Agrees to Five-Year, $25 Million Deal With 49ers The Jim Harbaugh sweepstakes have come to an end.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the most sought-after coach in football has decided to stay close to home and sign a five-year, $25 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

Chris Mortensen confirmed the report .

Harbough will take over for Mike Singletary, who led the 49ers to one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory, especially given the level of competition in the NFC West. At 6-10, the 49ers failed to qualify for the playoffs and struggled mightily away from home, going 1-7.

The 49ers are counting on Harbaugh to turn things around in San Francisco. The 47-year-old led the Stanford Cardinal to a 12-1 record this past season and a win in the Orange Bowl over Virginia Tech. In four seasons at Stanford, Harbaugh posted a 29-21 record.

The Dolphins, Broncos and University of Michigan reportedly also were interested in Harbaugh.
