Jimmy Rollins Predicts Phillies Will Reach 100 Wins in 2011, Challenge 2001 Mariners for Record

World Series championships aren't won in February, that's for sure. That doesn't mean that guys like Jimmy Rollins can't make some pretty daunting predictions, though.

The Philadelphia shortstop had some bold remarks and a big prediction for the 2011 season.

"We'll win 100 games," Rollins said Saturday, according to Philly.com "I really plan on going after, what is it, Seattle won 114 [sic] or something. … We'll go get somewhere hopefully in that range. But that requires everybody doing their job."

Rollins, of course, is talking about the 2001 Mariners team that won 116 games, more than any team in baseball history. That M's team ended up being dispatched easily by the Yankees in the ALCS, but that's beside the point.

Rollins will certainly have to include himself when it comes to "everybody doing their job," after a season in which he played only 88 games.

Say what you want about predictions in February, but even without Rollins, the Phillies have the best rotation in baseball. Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels could combine for a huge chunk of those 100 wins on their own.
