Knicks Guard Landry Fields Goes Undercover at Modell’s to Promote His Own Jersey

Modell's seems to be continuing with their newest marketing strategy to get lesser-known professional athletes to go undercover to sell their own products in their stores.

Patriots' fans will remember Danny Woodhead's appearance for them in December, as he tried to persuade customers to buy some No. 39 merchandise.

Knicks guard Landry Fields is the latest athlete turning to retail, as Modell's renamed him "Leeroy Jenkins," an homage to a viral video from a few years back.

If New Yorkers don't know what Landry Fields looks like, they will soon. The big rookie from Stanford has been solid for the Knicks this year, averaging 10 points and 7.2 rebounds a game. Fields' instant production is somewhat of a surprise, as he was drafted in the second round.

During the video, Fields clowns around with customers, urging them to buy his jersey. Fields jokes start off strong, as he sympathized with a customer whose spouse wouldn’t let him buy a Fields jersey, saying "I know, I feel you, when I had a girl she ran my life." Fields also spreads tall-tales of himself, saying "I heard when he rubs past people on screens, he burns them." He is also seen singing to himself in the corner of the store.

Fields' funniest moment, however, comes when he's playing a game of mini-basketball against some customers. Modell's can only hope their future representatives are as animated as Fields was.
