Fabio Capello is set to unleash his ideal striking partnership of Wayne Rooney and Andy Carroll this Saturday against Wales, a prospect that many in the England camp couldn't be more excited about.

Capello's assistant, Franco Baldini, watched Carroll against Sunderland on Sunday, and was reportedly satisfied with the big forward's fitness, according to Daily Mail.

Still, he will be observed in training this week to make sure that he'll be match fit.

Teammate Glen Johnson believes that Carroll will be an absolute terror for defenses, as he presents a nearly impossible matchup for most backs — and they know it.

"He scares the life out of opposition defences," said the full-back.

"Everyone sees Andy as a big target man, who can hold the ball up. But there is far more to his game than that.

"He is always an outlet. You can stretch the play by giving it to him and he scores goals. Defenders just do not like the way he plays.

"He has caught me by surprise with his development but in football your life can change very quickly.

"There is no doubt he can make a big impact."

The Euro 2012 qualifier will kick off at 11 a.m. ET this Saturday in Wales. This will be Carroll's second England appearance.
