Gordie Howe, Mark Recchi, Johnny Bucyk Among the Top 40-and-Over Performers in NHL History Mark Recchi is a marvel. The Bruins veteran continues to defy Father Time as he piles up points in his 22nd NHL season.

Despite having turned 43 on Feb.1, Recchi has shown no sign of slowing down, as he's fifth on the team with 47 points and one of just three Bruins to play in every game this season.

But Recchi is far from alone in refusing to submit to the aging process. Improved training techniques and medical advances have extended careers in recent years, but hockey has always had a few hardy souls who found a way to squeeze a few extra years out of their bodies.

So while Recchi celebrates passing Paul Coffey for 12th place all-time in points in NHL history earlier this week, here's a look at the top 10 over-40 performers in NHL history.
