As if Cubs fans aren't worried about superstitions enough, 21-year-old phenom Starlin Castro was put on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, likely jinxing the Dominican shortstop.

Castro is hitting .325 with 18 runs and 12 RBIs through 28 games so far. Last year, his first in the bigs, Castro finished with a .300 batting average and scored 53 runs in 125 games.

There's a pretty good chance that Castro's jinx came before the cover was actually released, as the shortstop is 5-for-34 (.147 BA) in his last eight games, heading into Tuesday's action. He and the Cubs head to Fenway for a three-game series starting Friday, May 20.
