Tiger Woods' return from injury lasted all of nine holes, as the struggling golfer withdrew from The Players Championship on Thursday shooting a 42 on the front nine.

Woods hadn't played since the Masters on April 10 as he recovered from knee and Achilles injuries. He bogeyed the first, fifth and ninth holes and triple-bogeyed the fourth, sitting at 6-over through nine.

Earlier this week, Woods seemed to take offense to fellow golfer Bubba Watson's assertion that the former No. 1 player in the world was "going the wrong way." Woods is currently ranked eighth in the world.
