David Ortiz is on the bench for the second straight night as the Red Sox face right-handed pitcher Jeff Karstens of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.

Adrian Gonzalez is in his usual spot at first base. J.D. Drew is in right field and Josh Reddick, who is batting .389 with a .455 on-base percentage against righties in 2011, is in left field.

Karstens is 4-4 with a 2.54 ERA, and right-handed hitters are batting only .232 against him, but lefties are hitting .101 points better.

Tim Wakefield, whose release by the Pirates in 1995 paved the way for him to sign with Boston, is on the mound. The 44-year-old knuckleballer will earn career victory No. 198 if he beats his former team Saturday.
