The Giants-Eagles might only be the third or fourth best rivalry in the NFC East, but it’s the best thing going this week as far as lockout talk is concerned.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy started it Thursday when he tweeted that Giants defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora is “overrated n soft” and the third best defensive lineman on his team.

This was apparently in response to Umenyiora barking about his contract displeasure. Though McCoy had no reason to get involved, he at least sparked a spat.

Umenyiora picked it up a notch Friday by taking a page out of Bill Parcells’ book, telling the New York Times that “She can say whatever he wants about it.” The defensive lineman also said the Giants’ defense has a nickname for McCoy: “Lady Gaga.”

It might not always be smart to get into a war of words with a guy whose nickname is “Shady,” but that’s what Umenyiora has done. Now, it’s McCoy’s move.
