The Red Sox finished dead last in the American League with a record of 52-102 in 1930, the seventh consecutive year the team disappointed.
Pitchers Milt Gaston and Jack Russell struggled mightily on the hill, going a combined 22-40 for the Sox, who finished 50 games behind the American League and eventual World Series Champions, the Philadelphia Athletics.
Once again, football returned to Fenway in the fall, with Boston College posting decisive victories over Catholic University and Boston University, but also dropping a 3-0 contest against Fordham.
Fenway also served as the home for the annual war memorial service.
