For only the third time in the franchise's history, the Minnesota Wild will announce a new head coach.

According to ESPN.com, reports are surfacing that Mike Yeo has been hired by the Wild as head coach. A news conference was called in for Friday at Xcel Energy Arena in St. Paul.

After leading the Wild's top farm club, the Houston Aeros, to the AHL Finals, Yeo was hired to replace Todd Richards, who was fired after failing to make the postseason the last two years.

Before the gig with the Aeros, Yeo was an assistant for the Pittsburgh Penguins and helped them win the 2009 Stanley Cup.
