The New York Jets haven't quite put all of their eggs in one basket — wide receiver Santonio Holmes' new $50 million basket — because they've reportedly been in talks with Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha as well.

But Gang Green's Easter Bunny forgot to throw a few eggs toward kick return and Wildcat specialist Brad Smith.

So now the 27-year-old former University of Missouri quarterback has found a new team to play for — the division-rival Buffalo Bills.

Smith agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract with the only team that actually plays in New York on Thursday, ESPN reports.

ESPN.com's Rich Cimini tweeted earlier Thursday that Smith's agents let the Jets know he wanted to return, but apparently New York did not show any interest and instead chose to continue to pursue Asomugha.

"Everything with the Jets was contingent on whether they got Nnamdi," Smith said in an e-mail to ESPNNewYork.com.

After the deal was made public, Smith tweeted, "Thanks #NYJets fans! You've been great!! Much Love! #Bills fans Let's Go!"

Smith rushed for nearly 300 yards — mostly out of the Wildcat formation — threw for a touchdown, returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and averaged 28.6 yards per kickoff return in 2010.
