Which Major League Team Will Finish With Fewest Wins This Season? While the Red Sox have World Series aspirations, some other teams across baseball are stuck trying to claw their way out of their division's basement. But at the end of the season, there will be one team who can be considered the worst of the worst.

There are a number of teams vying for that not-so-prestigious honor. And while a lot can change between now and the end of the season, the reality is that some teams are just plain bad.

Red Sox fans have gotten a glimpse at how bad the Houston Astros can be. They've given up more runs than any team in baseball, which is the main reason they currently hold the league's worst record.

Meanwhile, though, the Florida Marlins did everything they could in June to hop into the bad-teams discussion. A team that seemed so full of promise, the Marlins completely tanked the entire month, compiling a 5-23 record. Their record still isn't as bad as the Astros', but the Marlins are certainly a team in the midst of a downward spiral.

The Chicago Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908. Well, that drought looks like it will hold up another year, as the Cubbies are right alongside the Astros in the cellar of the NL Central.

Out west, the San Diego Padres are proving that last season's competitiveness was a fluke, resorting back to their struggling ways.

Joining them are the Kansas City Royals, who have taken up residence at their usual location — last place in the AL Central.

Some of these teams have shown more promise than others, and a few should have bright futures ahead of them given the young talent on their roster. But simply put, it doesn't look like postseason baseball is on any of their agendas this season.

But which team will be the worst of the worst when all is said and done this season?
