World Peace will have to wait.

Ron Artest will not be allowed to follow through on his outstanding idea to legally change his name to Metta World Peace until he deals with some outstanding traffic warrants, the Los Angeles Times reports. Peace cannot come to L.A. until those tickets are paid.

No. 15/23/91/93/96/37/15 (again) had expected to make his name change official Friday, but he’ll now continue to be stuck with the same name as the guy who rushed into the stands at the Palace at Auburn Hills in 2004. Of all the tough luck…

“Ron has to clear outstanding traffic warrants” before a name change can take effect, a court official told the L.A. Times.

Wonder how long that will take?
