Umpire Rob Drake Acts Like Yadier Molina Spit All Over Him, But Catcher Denies Discharge We all watch sports for various reasons, but mostly it's so we can debate whether or not a man spit on another man's face.

That's what we're doing on Wednesday morning, after Yadier Molina lost his mind on Tuesday night and took it out on home plate umpire Rob Drake.

Molina, batting in the top of the 10th inning against the Brewers, in a game with high emotions due to Albert Pujols and Ryan Braun getting plunked with pitches, took issue with Drake's strike three call. And Molina let him know.

Molina immediately started screaming at Drake, who promptly threw the Cardinals' catcher out of the game. Molina then got in Drake's face, and after the two went back and forth for a few seconds, Drake reacted as if he had just been struck by Roger McDowell's loogie — a second spitter! — from the bushes.

Now, given the intensity with which Mr. Molina was shouting in this man's face, it's rather likely that some slobber made its way from Molina's mouth to Drake's face, but the WWE-like sell job that Drake put on was more than a little unnecessary. Drake wiped his face three times during the confrontation, and then a couple of more times when manager Tony La Russa went out for a chat.

You can watch it all right here.

Judge for yourself whether or not the saliva was flying, but Molina denied any such action after the game.

"I would never spit on any face of a man. That's not me," Molina said. "I was so sweaty, my face was so sweaty and I was yelling, yelling at him. I would never spit on anybody's face."

Fair point, but Molina also accused Drake of pushing him, which, well, didn't happen at all.

Expect a suspension for Molina, and for the love of Peter, will someone get Rob Drake a towel?
