Mark Cuban Reportedly Interested in Buying Los Angeles DodgersIf at first you don’t succeed, come back with more money and try, try again.

Mark Cuban is reportedly interested in buying the Los Angeles Dodgers if the price is right, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Cuban, who tried but failed to buy the Texas Rangers, was interested in buying the Dodgers months ago, but walked away after Frank McCourt asked for more than $1 billion for the team.

“I don’t think the Dodgers franchise is worth twice what the Rangers are worth,” Cuban is quoted as saying. The Rangers sold to a group led by Nolan Ryan for $593 million.

With McCourt only recently deciding to sell the Dodgers franchise, there have not been any official talks between the Dodgers and Cuban. A representative of McCourt’s denied any talks with the Dallas Mavericks owner, saying, “[McCourt] doesn’t know Mark Cuban. He hasn’t spoken with Mark Cuban. He hasn’t had anyone speak with Mark Cuban on his behalf.”

But Cuban seems to only want the Dodgers if it makes financial sense, not just to have a team for having a team’s sake.

“I don’t want to be in a position to have a lot of debt,” Cuban told the Times. “Those would be dollars that could not be used to put together a winning team.”
