Fans' Verdict: Was Liverpool That Good or Was Aston Villa That Bad on Sunday?

Liverpool strolled to a 2-0 win over Aston Villa Sunday. The home team barely mustered a response when the Reds took a two-goal lead after 15 minutes, and were lucky not to lose by a larger margin.

The win was LFC's fifth road triumph of the season — matching last season's total — and moves it into sixth place in the English Premier League. The visitors certainly looked like a team on the ascendancy. Martin Skrtel and Craig Bellamy scored the goals, but every LFC player turned in good performance.

That makes one question what's happening at Aston Villa. Aside from a short spell in the first half, the hosts never looked like they would be making a game of it. We can only speculate as to the impact the ill Darren Bent and suspended Gabby Agbonlahor would have had, but

Their approach play lacked sharpness and the defense deteriorated as the game progressed. Villa is in 10th place, with 19 points, but could be fighting relegation in 2012 if performances do not improve in the near term.

Supporters of both teams weighed in on their sides' fortunes Sunday.
