Fight After Winter Classic Outside Geno's Steaks Sends One to Hospital (Video)

There wasn’t any fighting during the Winter Classic at Citizen’s Bank Park earlier this week, but unfortunately the same can’t be said for the game’s aftermath.

A fight broke out at Geno’s Steaks in downtown Philadelphia that has sent one man to the hospital and has police using social media to help find those responsible.

Philadelphia police have released a video of the incident in an effort to solicit information about the attackers, one of whom can be seen wearing a Claude Giroux jersey while assaulting someone in a Rangers jersey. The original video, taken on a bystander’s cell phone, was taken down from YouTube due to its graphic content but edited by the police and put back up.

One potential lead in the search for the attackers may be the result of the perpetrator’s comment on a Facebook post admitting to the deed. A man named Edward Neary wrote on the Facebook page of Broad Street Hockey — a Flyers blog — claiming that, “it was me and my friends do [something] about it.”

After being pressed by other commenters, Neary named others who he said were responsible before reconsidering and deleting all of his comments.

The blog has since forwarded that information to the Philadelphia police and is urging others with information to do the same.

The edited version showing the incident released by the police is below.
