Agent: David 'Junior Hoilett' Will Remain at Blackburn, January Move to Premier League Rival Is in DoubtDavid “Junior” Hoilett is the subject of transfer interest from Bolton, Tottenham, Sunderland and Liverpool FC. But the International Business Times reports the Blackburn winger’s agent — and father — says that he will more than likely remain with the team, instead of making a January switch.

Hoilett’s future is tied into that of Blackburn defender Christopher Samba. Samba is determined to leave the relegation candidates in January, and has submitted at least one transfer request to the club.

David Hoilett Sr. said that Blackburn will likely keep his son for the rest of the season, as he will help them battle relegation. Hoilett Jr. becomes a free agent in June, and the fee Blackburn would receive for selling him does not justify the blow it would suffer in losing both players.

“I can’t really see them letting both of them go at the same time and with Junior’s contract ending at the end of the year, the value they could get for Junior would be less than what they would get for Samba.” Hoilett Sr. said. So at the present time I don’t really see them letting both of them go.”

Blackburn would hope to fetch around £8 million ($12.3 million) for the the 21-year-old Hoilett.

But Premier League clubs lose around £30 million ($46.2 million) in television income when they are relegated to the Championship.
