Remo defender Aldivan learned that Aguia's Alexandre Carioca has a real mean streak on Sunday. The Associated Press reports Carioca was arrested for using a photographer's camera stand to hit Aldivan in the back during an altercation that took place in a Brazilian soccer game.

The incident took place during Sunday's Para State championship game between Aguia (home) and Remo (visitor). Players and coaches from both teams were pushing and shoving near the sideline, when the scenes turned truly violent.

Aldivan was bent over tying his shoelaces when Carioca hit him with the iron bar. He lay writhing on the ground after the blow. He was stretchered off the field, put into an ambulance, and taken to the hospital for tests.

Although he was on the substitutes' bench, Carioca was dismissed from the game. He was detained and taken to a local police station, but was later freed after Aldivan decided against pressing charges.

The game was stopped for 20 minutes. Police used pepper spray to put a stop to the brawl.
