NESN Employees Volunteer at Greater Boston Food Bank, Salvage 6,094 Pounds of Food

On Wednesday morning, 16 NESN employees donated their time to help out at the Greater Boston Food Bank on South Bay Avenue.

The GBFB moved into its brand new facility in 2009 and announced in 2011 that it will increase annual food distribution by 3.5 million pounds to provide at least one meal a day to everyone at risk of hunger in eastern Massachusetts.

NESN volunteers made 4,681 meals made possible by sorting 7,618 lbs of product. The total pounds of food salvaged was 6,094 and 151 meals per volunteer were made possible.
